Idol Puerto Rico
The third season of Idol Puerto Rico kicked off on WAPA TV with positive results. The channel aired two specials featuring the auditions held in Carolina and Mayagüez, last Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th at 9pm. According to Nielsen, the reality got the highest ratings for all demographics during the two-hour broadcasts each day. This season of the show, produced by WAPA TV and FremantleMedia, for the first time is seen simultaneously in the U.S. through WAPA América.Tuesdays show averaged 40% share in the Household demographic, while Univisión and Telemundo got 20% and 18%, respectively. In Women 18-49, WAPA TV registered a 48.6% versus 17% and 11% of the aforementioned competitors.In the Men demo WAPAs average was 47%, versus 10.6% and 10.7% for Univisión and Telemundo, respectively.Adults 18-49 registered a 48% versus Univisións 14.7% and Telemundos 10.9%This season the judges include producer Topy Mamery for a third consecutive year, Dominican singer Milly Quezada, and Argentinean singer composer Noel Schajris. The excitement continues next Monday, August 5th with the theater special, where the 24 semi-finalists will be announced.
