Telemundo Phoenix/KTAZ announced that Miguel Gaytán has been named News director for Noticiero Telemundo Arizona

Miguel Gaytán joins Telemundo Phoenix/KTAZ as News director for Noticiero Telemundo Arizona. In this role, he will be responsible for the overall performance of the news department across multiple media platforms. “Miguel is a seasoned newsroom leader with 20 years of experience working in local broadcasting. His knowledge coupled with his passion and commitment to delivering quality news content will help our station get to the next level while continuing to be the local news leader that our communities can trust,” said Araceli De León, president and general manager, Telemundo Phoenix & Tucson. “We are very excited that Miguel is joining our news team.” Gaytán has worked in different local Spanish-language television stations in Texas and as News director for Univision Austin/KAKW. Before this, he worked at Univision San Antonio/KWEX and held various newsroom positions including executive producer. A two-time Emmy award winning journalist, Gaytán began his career in broadcast television at Noticias Laredo/KLDO in 1996 and worked at the station for eight years as a production assistant, News producer and News director.
