Richard Ramlall to leave RCN after ABRY Partners completes its acquisition

Boston-based private equity giant ABRY Partners completed its acquisition of RCN Corp Thursday, and appointed Steve Simmons and Jim Holanda to head up the newly private company. ABRY Partners acquired RCN in a deal valued at about $1.2 billion.Richard Ramlall, RCN’s Senior VP of Strategic External Affairs & Programming, will be leaving the company after the completion of this deal. In a letter sent to PRODU Ramlall said: “I have decided to take the this moment to pursue a new business opportunity. It’s been a fantastic ride and our CEO Pete Aquino and the rest of our senior management team have achieved an incredible track record, taking the company from bankruptcy to financial stability, and turning RCN into a viable, innovative, and strong competitor to the telecom and cable giants.”
