Nat Geo Mundo presents Temple de Acero, a three-day patriotic special featuring the Hispanic men and women who bravely served the U.S. military. The special premieres on Thursday July 4th at 8pm.More than 157,000 active duty Hispanics serve in the U.S. armed forces; they account for 11.4 percent of the military. When the soldiers arrive at the base, they must learn vital tactics for operating in a war zone. Once in the field of action, they must try to control their emotions and need to remain alert; a quiet day with no enemy combatants can turn into a helicopter “mayday” in seconds. Profiling men and women who put themselves in the line of fire, Temple de Acero highlights their motivations for enlisting, experiences at war and the profound impact serving their country has had on their lives.
