“I think Mexico is the production capital of Latin America. It’s the Latin American Hollywood. Stars are born here. Almost all the music comes from here and it’s where movements originate,” said to PRODU, Luca Bentivoglio, VP of Programming and COO of LATV, after signing an acquisitions and original production agreement with the new Teco TV in Mexico City.Bentivoglio claims to know Mexico well since the beginning of his TV career in the 80’s. “I used to come with Jaime Dávila (ex Televisa), in the time of SIN (Spanish International Network), before it became Univisión,” said the executive. He expressed his satisfaction with the quality and volume of production of his new partner, Teco TV, a company founded by surgeons who successfully got into the TV entertainment business. TecoTV currently produces for Mexico City’s Cadenatres and now LATV. The company is also developing other projects for the international markets. The deal signed by Bentivoglio includes reality and variety shows, as well as a newscast and an entertainment news show for U.S. Hispanic network LATV.
