Marileyda Hernández was crowned the newest Idol Puerto Rico
The grand finale of Idol Puerto Rico swept the ratings in every key demographic on Monday, beating the ratings record set during the 2012 Finale and peaking at a phenomenal 73.1% audience share among Women 18-49. Idol Puerto Rico aired in Puerto Rico on WAPA Televisión, the islands leading broadcaster, and in the U.S. on WAPA América, the stations sister cable network distributed on all major cable, satellite and telco providers. Nielsen numbers confirmed the majority of Puerto Rican households were tuned into the final gala, when 17-year-old Marileyda Hernández was crowned the newest Idol Puerto Rico. The finale averaged more than a 50% audience share in each key demographic, beating the combined audience share of its two nearest competitors, Univision and Telemundo Puerto Rico. During the 9pm 12am timeslot, Idol Puerto Rico averaged a 44.6% audience share (25.5 rating) among Households. Women 18-49 showed their support with a solid 55.6% average share (22 rating), while Men 18-49 averaged 48.9% share (14 rating). Persons 18-49 averaged a 52.9% share (18.2).
