Televisa’s channel 5 will progressively change its programming to become more of a channel for young adults rather than for children. In this second installment, Vizcarra explains her programming strategy.“Being able to align the TV offer with the demand of advertisers for certain audiences is one of my challenges,” said to PRODU Elsa Vizcarra, Televisa’s new VP of Programming, who replaced Alberto Ciurana when he moved to Univisión.Advertisers have increasingly more restrictions for commercials of high-calorie food and beverages. That is why the demand for children’s programming is dropping drastically, while the young adult segment is growing.
