Azteca America announces the broadcast of Camino a Premio Mujer, a special program in advance of the awards show Premio Mujer. Bringing together women who have distinguished themselves in a wide range of professional fields and honor their work to advance the cause of women, the special airs Sunday, March 29 at 8pm/7pm C. Coming soon, for the first time on television in the United States, Premio Mujer is an awards gala that honors Latin women who have achieved great things in their professional fields. As a prelude to this celebration, Azteca America presents Camino a Premio Mujer, a program which will share some of the stories that have inspired the creation of this award. Camino a Premio Mujer is an hour-long program that will highlight the role of Latin women in our society and show how their stories serve to inspire many other women. Among these noted figures will be model, host, and entrepreneur Daisy Fuentes; Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor; ballet dancer Xiomara Reyes; professional boxer Marlen Esparza; activist Dolores Huerta; former astronaut and current director of the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center Ellen Ochoa; and host and journalist Cristina Saralegui. Hosted by Verónica del Castillo and Rodolfo Jiménez, Camino a Premio Mujer will also feature appearances by Angélica María, María Conchita Alonso, and Karyme Lozano. Gracing the audience with her musical talent, will be singer Shaila Dúrcal, one of the shows guests of honor.
