Santos vs. Guadalajara on Friday, May 6 was the fifth-highest rated sports event in prime time among Hispanic Adults 18-49 regardless of language for the week

Azteca America’s broadcast of Santos vs. Guadalajara on Friday, May 6 was the highest rated prime time sports event on Spanish-language television among Adults 18-49 for the week, according to Nielsen. The telecast also was the fifth-highest rated sports event in prime time among Hispanic Adults 18-49 regardless of language for the week. The match, which averaged 573,000 Total Viewers and 304,000 Adults 18-49, was the network’s second-highest rated soccer match of the season among key demos. The game outperformed Azteca’s 2015 broadcast of the final regular season Friday night Clausura match by +136% among Total Viewers and +125% among Adults 18-49.Heading into the Liga MX playoffs, the match was also one of the top-performing programs on Spanish-language television among male demos for the night. Among Men 18-49 and Men 18-34, the match ranked #6 overall for the night, ahead of all programs on UniMas, Estrella and MundoMax, while also outperforming Telemundo’s 7-10pm lineup – Caso Cerrado, Eva La Trailera and Esclava Blanca.
