Robert Gibbs será el nuevo vocero de McDonald's

McDonald’s continues with changes in its board of directors. Its most recent movement was to sign the ex spokesman of the White House, Robert Gibbs, to take over the Global Communications Management. This way the company seeks to win back the young audience to increase sales, which have been falling for the last six quarters.Gibbs will be in charge of communications and relations with governments and will help improve the brand. He succeeds Bridget Coffing, who announced her resignation a few months ago.Gibbs was First Press Secretary of the President of the United States, Barack Obama, and one of his main advisors in the reelection campaign. He is one of the architects of the slogan Yes, We Can and of the campaign through social networks, which revolutionized electoral contests in the US. Then, he founded together with other partners Incite Agency, a consultation firm in strategic communications, and from there he jumped to the fast food chain. The General Director of McDonald’s Corp., Steve Easterbrook, said that Gibbs and the new Marketing Manager, Silvia Lagnado, contribute rich experience and perspective from someone outside “as we build a more modern and progressing hamburger company”.McDonald’s informed on Monday that sales decreased in some places that were consolidated, both in the US as well as abroad.
