Hispanics are now inclined to use the Internet to read news of a political nature, and four out of five young Hispanics use social technology network as a news source, this according to the latest survey conducted by the business initiative and economic of the Florida Atlantic University (FAU BEPI).The survey also reveals a difference in the network among Hispanics who use the Internet to read news of a general nature, and those who use the Internet to read political news. Hispanics with a college degree are those who are inclined to use the Internet as their source of news (52% to 32% of the total of Hispanics). Over 68% of participants who have higher income (US $ 75,000 and over) consult the web at least once a day for news of a political nature.84% of younger Hispanics (those between 18 and 34 years) rely mostly on social network technology to read the news. The contrast is remarkable when considering that 48% of Hispanics of 55 and older do not use social networking technology to read any news.”Whoever wants to attract Hispanics, especially the younger generation, needs to recognize the important and progressive role of the Internet and social networking technology” Kevin Wagner said, associate professor of Political Sciences at FAU.
