Pierre Nanterme, Chairman and CEO at Accenture, revealed that the company could further expand their marketing services. “I am very excited about the next generation of marketing services we might launch.” Although the executive offered few details, he announced that Accenture Interactive is planning to launch what he called “intelligent marketing services.” The group also plans to expand in the area of artificial intelligence, machine-learning, “immersive realities” such as virtual and augmented reality and data-driven activities, he said. There has been increasing speculation regarding the possibility that Accenture could acquire one of the biggest five ad agency holding companies to accelerate its expansion in digital marketing services. According to company figures, 2017 “had been a year of ‘record strategic investments’, as it spent US$1.7bn on acquisitions. At least nine of the companies they bought are dedicated to marketing services. Meanwhile, the company’s marketing arm, Accenture Interactive, has expanded rapidly.
