McCannTruth Central, the global intelligence unit of McCann, conducted the study The truth about shopping, that addresses the attitudes and concerns of buyers. The analysis showed that while users buy through the internet and mobile devices, the acceptance is not total; people are concerned about privacy and are aware that they are being watched by the companies.52% of respondents said that shopping is too impersonal today and they are concerned about dependence on algorithms that determine their purchases. Indeed, 57% thinks they will discover less new things if companies always show them exactly what they are looking for.”We are seeing a variety of reactions to the growing science of purchase through the expanded use of technology and information. There are ways that are fully adopting it and others where they are doing it with suspicion,” Laura Simpson, Global Head of Central McCannTruth, said. However, there are new opportunities for traders, since 66% of buyers are looking for being inspired while shopping.”When we study the information available to us, we found that consumers are open to a more integrated shopping experience that what we see today. They are ready for the intelligent store of the future,” India Wooldridge, VP and associate director of McCannTruth Central said.
