During the awards ceremony, it was known that Grupo Gallegos and their piece Husband for the Alzheimer’s Association, was awarded with a bronze Lion in the Design category. In this opportunity, the category judged 2,624 pieces from 66 countries. Alisa Wolfson, Leo Burnett, USA’s Senior VP, and a member of the jury, told PRODU that the criterion used for evaluation was divided into three parts: creativity, execution and level of commitment (engagement) with the consumer.”The Alzheimer campaign won for its photography, it is a beautiful piece, which shows the deterioration of a man’s face through the effect of digital fading, and this could tell the jury how a person suffering this disease can feel,” she said.According to Wolfson, the pieces of the Hispanic agency showed what design and a good photograph can make within the Design category. “The pieces were very simple, they were not sad, they were quiet and brave; very telegraphic; you can really feel how this person lives in two seconds and the purpose of this category is to clearly show an idea without knowing what is all about,” he said. Finally, the executive concluded that earning a bronze in Cannes is a great thing. “This was a simple piece that needed to transcend the shortlist and we wanted to recognize the beauty and value it brought to the category in general.”
