La campaña ofrecerá exámenes gratuitos con un valor de más de US$15 millones
CVS Pharmacy has announced the launch of its annual Project health wellness campaign, or Proyecto salud in Spanish. In 2013 the campaign will offer over $15 million worth of free health checkups to multicultural communities in the United States.More than 750 Project health events will be held in 10 U.S. cities Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Newark, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. and in Puerto Rico.Project health will offer free of charge a series of comprehensive health-risk screenings including body mass index, or BMI, blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose exams, plus counseling on how to quit smoking. Additional exams will be offered that include dental care in October and bone density in May and November. Kids can take part too – those seven years old and up can take part in this year’s physical exams with parental consent.”Far too many of the multicultural populations we serve have difficulty accessing preventive care” said Troyen A. Brennan, M.D., M.P.H., executive vice president and chief medical officer of CVS Caremark. “Project health makes it easier for our customers to make their health a priority, offering them health risk assessments free of charge right in their neighborhoods. This program allows us to better reach customers who come from a wide array of ethnic and cultural backgrounds, ensuring that we are able to help all people on their path to better health” Brennan said.
