Los premios Clio promueven la igualdad de género en la industria publicitaria
The Clio Awards called on the advertising community worldwide to designate a gender-equal jury to judge the 2014 entries, the better to evaluate the contributions of women to the industry. Juror candidates can be submitted through the Clio website until Aug. 29, 2013.The call to action comes with the announcement that the Clio Awards ceremony will be held in the fall of 2014, coinciding with Advertising Week in New York City. Entries can be submitted starting next year on Feb. 3.Through its call to action, the Clios adds its voice to the 50/50 Let´s Make the Industry initiative announced by the Art Directors Club, or ADC, aimed at promoting measurable changes in the roles and participation of women in the creative sector. This movement urges the same level of participation for both sexes in awards juries, boards of directors, events and lineups of guest speakers. Through its efforts, the Clios encourages agency people to nominate qualified female creatives and increase the number of women under consideration when the best creative works of the year are being selected. It is our aim to honor the industrys most groundbreaking creative work, judged by the industrys most elite talent, and that can be accomplished with juries that better represent both genders. As this effort reflects, changing the status quo depends on the commitment and participation from the creative community across the globe said Nicole Purcell, executive director of the Clio Awards.
