Las obras se develarán al público en Francia, el 16 de junio fecha en la que inicia el festival
As part of the celebrations of the 60th Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, the organizers announced an exclusive contribution being made by artist Gerald Scarfe.Scarfe, who will work with the festivals creative team, has been charged with creating artworks to decorate the city of Cannes during the festival. The works will be unveiled to the French public on June 16, the opening day of the event. The artist was the perfect choice to help the organizers of the festivals 60th anniversary celebrate creativity. Gerald Scarfe not only began working in the creative field during the first year of the Cannes Lions 60 years ago, but throughout his career he has been thinking outside the box, a quality highly valued by the festival and very much in tune with our industry, said Philip Thomas, CEO of the Cannes Lions festival. As part of our anniversary celebrations, we wanted to highlight the importance of creativity, which is the heart and soul of the Cannes Lions, by featuring something unique and symbolic of this special landmark in the festivals history. For his part, Scarfe said I have worked in the creative field for 60 years and Ive always loved doing animal drawings, so I love being part of this prestigious festival, among other reasons because it is also celebrating its 60th anniversary.
