Rena Shapiro, VP de Politics & Advocacy de BuzzFeed

BuzzFeed website will begin creating native video ads for politicians and political causes. Now the site –described as one of the native ads pioneers– will offer a window for professionals in politics to address –above all– a younger target. “BuzzFeed is the top place millennials and influentials are reading and sharing content and news. With BuzzFeed Politics there is a huge demand for political and advocacy groups to tap into that audience, from our shareable videos to our social posts, there’s a massive opportunity and I can’t wait to get started” Rene Shapiro, VP Politics & Advocacy for BuzzFeed, said in a statement. The website stressed that native political ads will be clearly marked as such, to distinguish it from content created by their editorial team. It’s not the first time BuzzFeed has ventured into this type of ads for politicians, in 2012, the site hosted several native advertisements for candidates running for the White House.
