Producer Juan Navarrete
The second season of the reality show La Academia Kids, developed by Azteca, will premiere August 16th at 7pm on Azteca 13 in Mexico. In an interview with PRODU, producer Juan Navarrete, revealed details about the technology especially developed by international company Bonifant, which will allow the kids to interact with the set. Were investing heavily on the set: its integration with video will set it apart from last year. We dont want to steal the spotlight from the kids, but wan to allow that magic world to come through to the viewer. Through the technology, contestants will interact with the set and this will give it a dimension never before seen in Mexico and seldom done in other countries, said Navarrete. He explained that 20 kids (10 girls and 10 boys) will be selected to start the show and will go through an 18-week elimination process. For the first time, Azteca will air two special casting episodes, one for the girls and one for the boys, and the competition will begin on August 30th. She said she was pleased with the show advertisers, with Lala being the main sponsor, adding its brand to the La Academia Kids title. Last years brands want to be part of this season, and this is a reflection of the trust they have in us and demonstrates that TV needs sponsorship to put on a good show for the audience, said Navarrete.
