Panel Entertainment 2.0: The User Experience Revolution de NEXTV Plus USA

Video app design, development & enhancement; personalization & content discovery; data-driven AI, analytics and recommendation engines; voice search and smart speakers, were the topics covered by the presentation “Entertainment 2.0: The user experience revolution” during the virtual event NEXTV Plus USA.

Dan Grace, VP and Head of Entertainment AI, Comcast, mentioned that the growth in content production has contributed to the improvement of the user experience, while Jon Lin, VP of Product, Sling TV said that they are seeing more and more platforms seeking to be supported by the linear TV experience such as the cases of Pluto TV and Peacock. For Paul Erickson, Founder and Principal of Erickson Strategy & Insights, who moderated the panel, the trend he sees is super aggregation.

For Noah Vadnai, VP of Product and Content Discovery at Warner Bros. Discovery, the main trend is that the golden age of content continues to evolve. “This is our main focus. We are putting together extra content. It’s still not a perfect solution. With the new, enhanced product coming out in spring 2023, we will be able to leverage data from both services. We want to focus on providing multiple access points to the catalog for those users interested in different genres,” Vadnai said, referring to the company’s new platform due out late in the first quarter of next year.

Grace mentioned that Comcast wants to get more involved in gaming, especially for the younger demographic that prefers gaming than watching content. They consider this a key area to generate engagement.
