José E. Ramos, president of WAPA Televisión
WAPA América, the U.S. cable network arm of broadcaster in Puerto Rico, WAPA Televisión, has completed the relocation of its master control operations from LIN TV in Massachusetts to WAPAs state-of-the art facilities at the stations headquarters in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The move, which was accompanied by a $2 million investment, will allow WAPA América to retain complete control over the broadcast of its channel and to deliver the highest-quality signal to more than 3.5 million U.S. homes that receive the channel. Were thrilled to bring WAPA Américas master control operations to Puerto Rico where we have more resources and can better manage the signal that millions of Puerto Ricans and other Hispanics living in the U.S. enjoy, said José E. Ramos, President of WAPA Televisión. To coincide with the master control relocation, on August 2 WAPA América will launch a new branding campaign exclusively for the U.S. audience that includes new on-air graphics, promos and promotional video featuring some of Puerto Ricos biggest and most important celebrities, including Reggaeton sensation Tito El Bambino, ex Miss Universe Zuleyka Rivera, and comedian Sunshine Logrono. The new promotional video will be available simultaneously on air and online at {www.WapaAmerica.com} on August 2nd.
