Vme: We are positioned for tremendous growth in 2011

The new Senior VP and Director of Advertising Sales at Vme, Patty Marrero, said to PRODU that this year the network is set for great growth in sales.“We have high-quality programming and we are connecting with consumers much differently than other networks. Additionally, our distribution –we reach 10.2 million Hispanic homes (77% of all U.S. Hispanic households)- and the fact that we are going to be measured by Nielsen starting in January of 2011, puts us in a great position for growth,” said Marrero.In 2011 Vme will host an upfront in New York as it did in 2009. Marrero pointed out they are focusing their sales efforts on some of their properties: Vme Cocina, Tu bebé, Planeta feroz, the weekly original boxing property Serie Mundial de Boxeo, Sexto Round; and the popular 90-second capsules Nota Musical, which will become a half-hour show this year.“The main challenge in 2011 is having the time to meet with all our clients and show them what we are doing, who we are; to show them we are a viable alternative for both consumers and advertisers. We’re seeing growth especially in the categories of consumer packaged goods, mobile services and products, and automotive,” said Marrero. “This year we will have an Upfront, something we did not do in 2010. We will be present during the upfront week showcasing our new programming,” she added.
