Joining The World Cup party ViendoMovies, premieres this Sunday, June 8 at 9pm the blockbuster Maracana (Uruguay/Brazil, 2014), produced by Sebastián Bednarik and Andrés Varela and awarded by the Uruguayan Film Institute. Maracana tells the story of the Maracanazo, as the victory of the selection of Uruguay in the final of the 1950 World Cup against the Brazil is known. In this World Cup and against all odds, Uruguay won over Brazil 2:1 in the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, in front of almost 200,000 fans, the largest number of people ever assembled to witness a soccer game so far. The film revives the days moments with impacting original footage covering the preparation of the event and the final game, as well as interviews with coaches, players and other personalities. Besides Maracana, ViendoMovies scheduled for all Sundays in June football related films: The Crack (6/15), The Doorman (6/22) and Charlie (6/29), all of them at 9pm.
