Viacom International Studios We plan to produce more than 700 hours for this year with projects like, Ana, R and Noobies

Viacom International Studios (VIS) during Natpe announced several projects they are kicking off for this year. Ana, starring and written by the Mexican actress Ana de la Reguera for Comedy Central; with Claro Video they will co-produce the series R, and they additionally confirmed the second season tof Noobees for Nickelodeon Latin America, in co-production this year with Grupo Mediapro.

Federico Cuervo, SVP and new head of Viacom International Studios, explained that for 2019 they plan to produce more than 700 hours. Productions include Ana (10×30´), shot in Los Angeles and in Mexico, and produced together with Epigmenio Ibarra’s Argos, with Jerry Rodríguez as director. “We are already writting all the episodes to start shooting midyear and be able to launch it in the last semester of 2019 for all Latin America.”

Emphasizing that VIS not only works for its brands but also produces with partners and for third parties, Cuervo mentioned the production announced on Wednesday 23, R, a 10-episode series that is a black comedy to be shot in Mexico. The fiction, that is in pre-production, will be available at the end of 2019 on Paramount Channel and the Claro Video SVOD, panregionally.

Cuervo adds that in three weeks they will start shooting pan-regionally Un Ladrón, the adaptation of the Alfred Hitchcock film To Catch a Thief, for which they already have a co-production presales with Paramount Europe.

He explains that they will also add films to VIS. “We have already been producing film with Telefe, but VIS will also have a film part, with projects that have not yet been announced.”
