The new US Hispanic OTT platform, Veonet.TV, led by Efrén Carranza and Carlos Barba, has just acquired the stand-up style comedy, Tele Humor (13×30), produced by Jorge Elías from Hollywood Channel.Tele Humor is the only stand-up comedy show in Spanish that is shot from one of the comedy cathedrals in the US, the Improv Club.Elías, producer of the show, has produced more than one thousand hours for TV in Spanish.”It is part of our strategy to be able to offer subscribers original programs. We are offering independent, new, and original productions in Spanish, said Efrén Carranza, president of Veonet.TV.The first season of Tele Humor has special programs dedicated to comedians from Mexico and Latin America.The permanent cast includes comedians such as Polín Teto el Monaguillo, Beto el Chistólogo, Trapici and Luis Arcaraz, from Los Angeles; Amanda Libertad from Cuba; Mercedes Brito from Venezuela and Agostina Fusari from Argentina.Rafa Mercadante (La Isla and Escape Perfecto from Azteca) will be the host, along Rafael Sigler, who joins the group as comedian and host. Pepe Suárez contributes his talent as author and creator, and Richard Villa, a comedian specialized in stand up in the US, will be in charge of preserving the format and giving future comedians an opportunity.Tele Humor is a concept created and produced by Jorge Elías for Hollywood Channel.
