The Wall Street Journal reported this Thursday June 12th that Univision’s owners have held “preliminary discussions” with, among others, CBS and Time Warner. Two other possible buyers -identified by media analysts in the past -are Disney and 21st Century Fox.Univision is controlled by a consortium of investors including Haim Saban. The owners are seeking north of US$20 billion for the company, according to people familiar with the matter. The group bought Univision for $13.7 billion, including debt, in early 2007.
