Univision Puerto Rico unveils its new programming as part of Upfront 2017

Pequeños Gigantes USA averaged 2.4 million Total Viewers 2+, nearly 1.0 million Adults 18-49, 458,000 Adults 18-34 and 590,000 Persons 12-34

With the slogan Enamórate de Univision Puerto Rico (Fall in Love with Univision Puerto Rico) and a beach party vibe, the station unveiled its new programming as part of Upfront 2017, held at Vivo Beach Club in Carolina.

Among the properties introduced were boundary-breaking dramas, including El Chapo, based on the life of one of the world’s most notorious criminals, La Piloto and Sin Rastro de Ti, as well as the long-awaited international co-production Totalmente Diva and season two of Los Diez Mandamientos.

In addition to these action-packed series, the station will also offer family-friendly primetime choices such as Pequeños Gigantes USA, hosted by Puerto Rico’s own Giselle Blondet, which premiered this past Monday.

Univision Puerto also announced new runs of everybody’s favorite animated comedy, The Simpsons. The programming will be complemented by awards shows such as Premio Lo Nuestro, Premios Juventud and the Latin GRAMMYs.

The station also unveiled a new project, Despierta Puerto Rico, in which, as a first step toward the creation of new and innovative choices, will soon be producing content to continue to keep its audience up-to-date. Shanira Blanco will be one of the personalities in the commercial side of the project. This content is in addition to the Guaynabo-based station’s local programming.

“Today’s audience is more connected and sophisticated than ever, and their viewing habits are changing. Our programming needs to reflect those changes. Which is why we are beefing up primetime and providing viewing options that are more closely aligned with audiences’ viewing habits. Our priority is serving our community on the island with the best and most innovative content. Now more than ever, we have programming and multi-platform initiatives that allow our partners to meet their objectives and reach the audience like never before,” said Michael Gillespie, president and general manager of Univision Puerto Rico.
