Univision premieres its special coverage of 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa across all platforms
Univision, the U.S. based and exclusive Spanish-language broadcaster of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa, is pulling out the stops across all of its television, online, mobile, and VOD platforms, for the highly anticipated opening day on Friday, June 11th. Univision will bring La pasión del Mundial (The Passion of the World Cup) alive throughout its coverage of the most important soccer tournament in the world. Starting at 7am, Univisions Despierta América (Wake-Up America) will broadcast live from South Africa and will feature international live cut-ins with fans reactions from Méxicos famous Zócalo, as well as New York and Los Angeles, as the anticipation builds for the tournaments opening ceremony from Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg. The first match between host country South Africa and Mexico kicks-off live at 9:30am in High Definition (HD) on Univisión and via live streaming on {UnivisionFutbol.com} in the US and Puerto Rico; it will be followed by a special edition of Despierta América.
