Univision premieres the mini-series Por Siempre Joan Sebastián, El Poeta del Pueblo (18×60′) on June 27th at 10pm, taking Yago´s time slot.The story is produced by Carla Estrada (Lazos de Amor, Amor Real, El Privilegio de Amar) and it is based on the life of Mexican singer and songwriter Joan Sebastian.Jose Manuel Figueroa portrays his late father, and Livia Brito as Maribel Guardia. The production is the first ever primetime mini-series based on the life and career of a legendary musician.Por Siempre Joan Sebastián, El Poeta del Pueblo takes us back to the 1950s to the small Mexican town of Juliantla, where Joan Sebastian was born and, ultimately, died last year. The story features Sebastián as a young man migrating to Chicago to pursue his dream, the women who inspired him, and how he launched a successful recording career that would make him one of the top-selling Grammy award-winning artists.
