Univision Communications Inc. (UCI) announced that Isaac Lee has been named to the newly created position of Chief News, Entertainment & Digital Officer. Lee will continue to report to Randy Falco, president and CEO of UCI. In this position, Lee will be responsible for UCIs News, Entertainment, and Digital content across platforms, as well as the Companys Music efforts. He will continue to oversee FMG, which includes UCIs interests in Fusion and El Rey as well as The Root, The Onion, A.V. Club, Clickhole, Flama, Univision Digital and Univision Music. Additionally, he is leading the search that is underway for UCIs new president of Entertainment, a position that will report to Lee. Univision continues to evolve and drive innovation and I am confident that in this new role Isaac will further align our content and platform teams to strategically drive growth and engagement. The rapid pace of change in the industry requires us at Univision to continually disrupt the media landscape and I am confident that our leadership team will continue to focus on our mission, on serving our diverse audiences and on leading in the industry, said Falco. Lee will continue to work closely with Televisa, and will continue to develop the newly launched Storyhouse, UCIs development and production arm led by Camila Jiménez-Villa and Juan Rendón, which recently announced the co-production of a series with Netflix, El Chapo, based on the life story of one of the worlds most notorious criminals, and has also inked a content deal with HBO. Lee will also oversee UCIs joint venture with Patricio Wills, W Studios.
