For the first time, Univision ranked third nationwide in primetime in Adults 18-34, beating ABC and CBS.Beating ABC and CBS is a great honor. Univisións real competition are the Anglo networks, said Alberto Ciurana, president of Programming and Content of Univision Networks.Ciurana also took the opportunity to praise the performance of the Los Angeles and New York stations, which reached first and second place nationwide (Adults 18-49), with the most watched local morning newscasts in their respective markets. He also noted that Channel 45 Houston ranks first in the demos 18-49 and 18-34.The executive also spoke about the performance up to date of the 8th season of Nuestra Belleza Latina, which gave Univision the second place nationwide this past Sunday March 2nd, outperformed only by ABCs Academy Awards broadcast; adding that this years changes to the format have been effective.He said the network is reaching younger audiences than the competitions average. Univisions viewers average age is 38, while ABCs is 53, CBS is 59, NBCs is 55 and Foxs is 47, added Ciurana.He mentioned that UniMás is reaching spectacular audience levels in primetime. Its beating Telemundo with alternative series such as La Viuda Negra. And there is more to come; around the World Cup we will premiere Sonys Metástasis, he added.
