Univision´sport content reported double digit growth in key metrics
Univision Communications Inc. (UCI) delivered strong results with its sports content across its media platforms in 2013 delivering double digit growth in key metrics. Additionally, Univision Deportes Network (UDN), which launched in 2012, finished the year as the fastest-growing cable network in both total day and primetime in 2013. Univisions sports ratings growth is a result of our strategic multi-channel, multi-platform approach which allows us to cater to every fan’s needs. Univision Deportes will continue to grow and evolve by offering the best content and thereby solidifying our position in the sports industry, said Juan Carlos Rodríguez, president of Univision Deportes. In 2013, Univisions Liga MX viewership grew +25% with Total Viewers and +17% with Adults 18-49 vs. prior year. On UniMás, viewership for Liga MX increased by +16% for Total Viewers and +9% for Adults 18-49 vs. prior year. Additionally, UniMás broadcast the top soccer telecast of 2013 among Adults 18-49 across all networks the Mexico vs. USA match on March 26, 2013 delivered 2.8 million Adults 18-49.On the cable front, UDN ranked as the fastest-growing cable network in 2013 in both total day and primetime: UDN was up +148% with Total Viewers and +153% with Adults 18-49 in primetime vs. prior year and was up +225% with Total Viewers and +220% with Adults 18-49 in total day year over year.
