Univision News and Penske Media Corporation (PMC), parent company of Variety, have joined forces to create a co-branded multiplatform entertainment segment for Univision Network’s Primer Impacto (First Impact), one of the highest rated newsmagazine shows in the United States and several Latin American countries. Titled Variety en Primer Impacto, the 2.5 minute segment is now available across all Univision platforms—broadcast and digital. It presents the day’s most important entertainment news, focusing on Hollywood’s most prominent Hispanic stars and newsmakers. “Variety’s reputation in the world of show business news and Univision’s unique understanding of the Hispanic audience guarantees a first-rate offering that gives our viewers unparalleled access –on air, online and on mobile– to the lives and careers of their favorite Hispanic celebrities in the Hollywood film and television industries. In addition, this groundbreaking alliance of our two powerful brands offers advertisers new and exciting opportunities for reaching Univision’s highly engaged audience—the fastest growing consumer segment in the U.S.,” said Isaac Lee, president of Univision News. “PMC’s constellation of multi-platform entertainment brands continues to be a leader in entertainment news. And to align our Variety brand with Univision and their leading news program Primer Impacto is the perfect alliance for targeting this critical growth demographic,” said Jay Penske, PMC Founder and CEO. Variety en Primer Impacto is being produced by PMC out of its Los Angeles studios and its executive producers are PMC’s Michael Davis and Primer Impacto’s Pilar Campos.
