Univision Network’s entertainment news show El Gordo y La Flaca presents an emotional special entitled Un Tributo Gigante honoring the network’s top-rated and longest-running variety show, Sábado Gigante, which comes to an end on September 19th after 53 years on-air. The special will air this Saturday, August 22nd at 7pm ET/PT (6pm Central).In the special host Lili Estefan will welcome Sábado Gigante’s creator and host Mario Kreutzberger (Don Francisco), who will join them for a revealing and intimate interview full of fascinating anecdotes about himself and his beloved show. In addition, the special will present interviews with some of Sábado Gigante’s top former models including, Alejandra Espinoza, Jackie Nespral, Sissi, and even Lili Estefan, who all started their television careers on the show. The tribute will also count on music stars such as Banda El Recodo, Banda Los Recoditos, Chayanne, Gerardo Ortíz, Lupillo Rivera, Ricky Martin, and Thalía, among many others to share special messages for Don Francisco and celebrate Sábado Gigante’s impact to each of their musical careers.
