TV Azteca officially introduced the cast and creative team behind the new season of Lo Que Callamos Las Mujeres, which after 23 years of its first episode, is making its comeback with new episodes starting this Sunday the 14th at 7pm. Its creator and executive producer, Elisa Salinas, described this project as her greatest legacy and highlighted that it aims to become a platform driving the conversation about issues that affect Mexican and international society, with themes around women, but for the first time, giving a leading role to men.

“We are in a time where women’s issues prevail and in which TV Azteca has played a great role during the last 23 years. We were pioneers in addressing issues such as family violence and female sexuality, that were taboo and this is a space not to judge, but to trigger conversations, a platform to expose situations that we experience. It is a program that has evolved along with women,” explained the producer, who added that 95% of the stories are based on real events; while the remaining 5% are ideas, which allows them to “fiction reality.”

Salinas said that in 23 years approximately 6,000 episodes have been produced, and around 3,500 continue to be broadcast not only in Mexico but in more than 56 countries on four continents: “This shows that the audience is hungry for supported information that moves them. The format has traveled and has been sold not only as a can, but also the scripts, and I have even been an adviser in countries like Chile, where they have their own Lo Que Callamos las Mujeres.”

Regarding the production, by Ana Celia Urquidi, Salinas said that in the 60 episodes of this season: “we are working from a very nice perspective, moving from ancient TV times to use only two cameras. It has been a surprising and a learning process, which allows me to update myself as a producer, even when my heart is always set on the script.”

She added that in her opinion, Lo que Callamos las Mujeres continues to be the hallmark of TV Azteca on open TV, “which does not mean it can’t live on any other platform, because today we see formats such as docudrama based on real events and we were pioneers of that. I am not a producer with ambitions, but with aspirations to leave a legacy and this is one of them.”

The presentation of the first episode included also Adrián Ortega, General Director of TV Azteca Content; Luis Merlo, Director of Fiction Production; Emilia Lamothe, Associate Producer; Martín Garza, Content Manager, as well as talents such as Mayra Rojas, Vanessa Acosta, Alejandra Haydeé and actors like Tomás Goros, among many others.

“TV Azteca’s commitment is to continue making attractive content for the Mexican audience, in this case presenting a powerful format, which is an iconic brand of the company, with 23 years of history and I am happy to continue generating this type of project,” said Ortega before screening one of the episodes of this new season.
