Tondero: Competition now is not between Latino products but global

Tondero celebrates its 10th anniversary and for that reason, they launched a book edited by Planeta, that is going to be sold in libraries in Peru with all the history of these 10 years.

Cecilia Gómez de la Torre, manager and partner of Tondero Distribution, commented that the book was an idea of Miguel Valladares, owner of Tondero.

As a novelty, Gómez de la Torre reported that the film Soltera Codiciada, also included in the book, has been the first original film made for Netflix Mundial and that they just opened offices in Spain, Colombia, and Mexico.

She announced that they are also working on the scripts of two series: Clandestino and El Túnel, a series on the seizure of the Japanese embassy in Peru in the 1990s.

According to the executives, the changes in production mechanisms generated by digital platforms like Netflix, have been positive for everyone because they have very high standards. Besides, that products from Latin America can be seen around the world is good for the industry and generates a very big challenge in terms of continuing to grow and produce.

“Competition now is not between Latino products but global ones,” she summarized.

She added that one of the things he rescues in this new stage in his life is that he works with young people who are around 30 years old and he is learning a lot from them “because there is a new consumption mechanism that is related with the speed increase this new generation demands”.
