Juan Camilo Ferrand, Chief Content Officer of The Story Nest
The Story Nest, the new company created between Imagina US and Colombian writer Juan Camilo Ferrand, is already in conversations with several channels in the region to evaluate potential projects. Were working on several lines of content. We have great series like the ones Ive done, novelas and short series. We are trying to integrate markets well so that the stories work in the U.S., Mexico, and are relevant in South America, especially in Colombia. The product must be able to travel well across the region, Ferrand told PRODU from the Imagina US headquarters in Miami.Ferrand, who wrote screenplays for hits such as El Cartel, Las Muñecas De La Mafia and Pablo Escobar, El Patrón Del Mal and wrote Pasión Prohibida, is the Chief Content Officer of The Story Nest.He said The Story Nest was born out of the need both of Imagina US and his own to partner with someone that complemented what each was lacking. Ive been working as a lone writer, hired by channels and production houses, but wanted to take a step further, partnering with a company that understood me better, that could go to market with me, sell the material I write, and participate more on the production. Imagina US was searching for something similar, said Ferrand. The idea is for Imagina US to produce the products for the different markets, to be the suppliers. I will be in charge of content, overseeing scripts, building stories and making sure they are structured well, he added.Ferrand will be supported by a talented group with whom he has worked in Mexico, Miami and Colombia. The idea is to integrate talent from all the countries as needed, he added.
