“We never closed our doors during the pandemic, on the contrary, we had a lot more work, because due to the lockdown, people began asking us for more dubbing projects. We adopted a very strict sanitation protocol, so we did not have a single case of covid and we gave the actors the possibility of working from home,” said Enrique Garduza, president of The Kitchen Mexico.

With their studios located in Cuernavaca, being flexible allowed them to open up new opportunities. “Although we prefer face-to-face work because the direction of actors is more complete, we learned how to work remotely, achieving quality results, ensuring an excellent work of the actors from home,” Garduza explained. Some actors set up studios and bought microphones, while The Kitchen hired a Session Link Pro system to make the audio connection to their studios secure. He explained that this remote work system could remain in the future, with the possibility of being perfect, even if the conditions of the pandemic improve.

He commented that the biggest challenge during 2020 was to keep their doors open and work in person with actors who moved from one studio to another while ensuring the health of all their workers. “We were very strict with sanitary measures and with the necessary care. There were moments when we were scared of the situation. Every week we thoroughly sanitize the studios and we were very careful,” he said.

He finally said that it has been a blessing being part of The Kitchen, which works in an articulated way, even in different processes of the same project between different countries. “I would like to highlight the work of Deeny Kaplan as executive VP of The Kitchen helping in marketing strategies and that The Kitchen Mexico has a name in Miami since The Kitchen is 20 years old,” he explained.
