The first edition of the Intellectual Property Summit in Miami, an event held in 12 countries, had a successful call from the major soccer organizations such as LaLiga, FIFA, Concacaf, Conmebol, and 1190 Sports; content production and distribution companies such as NBCUniversal, Ole Distribution, Netflix and TelevisaUnivision and Latin American authorities such as Ursec of Uruguay, Senadi of Ecuador, Indecopi Peru and ONDA of the Dominican Republic. It also included pay-TV operators such as SimpleTV, technology companies such as BB Media and Forward Global, and the Alianza Contra la Piratería Audiovisual (Alliance Against Audiovisual Piracy).

“The event has already been established at the Latin American level. The Miami edition represented a great effort but was satisfying because it brought together many relevant figures who traveled to share their vision. Many of those who know me are aware of my passion for this topic, and I appreciate the trust on behalf of the team that made this possible,” said Francisco Escutia, president of Laapip.

Escutia explained that the objective of the Summit was to explain how the industry of production and distribution of audiovisual and sports content works. “Everything behind it, the investment, the technology, and the way to reach audiences. Everything we do and must protect. It is an event for the authorities and by the authorities, for the industry,” said Escutia.
