Universal Cable Productions (UCP) partnered with Televisa USA, a division of the Grupo Televisa, to coproduce two fiction series based on Latin American properties: Pantera, on the popular Mexican comic book from the 70’s, and Allies, an adaptation of the Argentinean series Aliados.Pantera will be a more modern version of the history of Gervasio Robles, known as El Pantera, a man that is unfairly sentenced for the murder of his girlfriend. Locked up in prison for 5 years where one of the immates decides to train him in martial arts and combat tricks, he will be chosen by General Ayala, chief of public security, to become the new guardian of the city. In Mexico, Televisa made the series El Pantera with excellent audience levels throughout its seasons.Allies follows six people of different ages, races and social classes who intertwine their fates through the power of the universe. In a last effort to help mankind to redeem itself, six cosmic beings are sent to the earth as human beings assigned to the six heroes.
