Alicia Lebrija, Maca Rotter y Roberto Gómez de Televisa presentaron la nueva plataforma de El Chavo
Televisa introduced its new app and platform Aprende Inglés Con El Chavo, motivated by the success of the English-language version of the animated series. Aprende Inglés Con El Chavo launched in the U.S. and Latin America this past Monday, August 18th. Alicia Lebrija, Executive President of the Televisa Foundation, Maca Rotter, General Director of Televisa Consumers Products, and Roberto Gómez Fernández, Executive Producer, presented the strategy. On the show El Chavo, the episodes about classes were some of the funniest and we hope this app has the same results. With the character of El Chavo, now animated, we feel confident this platform will be a fun vehicle to learn English. Its an example of the combined strength of the Televisa Foundation and the image of El Chavo, said Gómez Fernández.Rotter said the project started ever since El Chavo was first dubbed to English, now having an additional appeal because the characters interact and speak English. It allows us to keep the brand current with a massive platform. We had been working on the learning materials for some time, but the reach was limited. Now kids are immersed in the digital world from birth and using these tools to communicate this message can be very successful. Finally, Lebrija said this is a first step of an extensive learning program the foundation plans to launch, where mathematics and science would be the next subjects to address. The platform features four episodes with videos and activities, in addition to a special summer episode.
