Joshua Mintz, Scripted Programming EVP and general manager of Telemundo Studios
Joshua Mintz, EVP of Scripted Programming and general manager of Telemundo Studios, stated that 2015 was an incredible year for the company.”All of us who work in Telemundo are happy for the incredible year we have had. The company is extremely healthy, both in ratings as well as financially. When asked if they will manage to be #1 in the US, he said: “The fact that our competitors and other production companies who work in other channels are imitating what we are doing is the best sign that in this country innovation and competition work. Due to its size and the need to grow, this company has always been innovative. We have always been ahead, always trying out new things, sometimes we make mistakes, but relevant and successful things have resulted from those mistakes. He revealed that they had several surprises for 2016 as well as the spin-off of some of their contents; that their (yet undisclosed) production plan for the year was ready, and that they would keep the prime time programming structure announced by their president Luis Silberwasser in the last Upfront: 8pm, new musical biographical fiction proposals, 9pm dramatic telenovela with their unique style, and at 10pm, superseries invented by them such as El Señor de los Cielos, already in its fourth season.
