Telemundo Station Group launches campaign to prepare Hispanic students and parents for new school year
As part of Telemundos signature multiplatform education initiative, El Poder de Saber (The Power of Knowing), Telemundo Station Group is participating in a series of events this summer to help Hispanic students and parents prepare for the new school year with free health screenings, immunizations, tips for college and more. In addition, thousands of El Poder de Saber backpacks will be distributed in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Chicago, Dallas and Houston. Through El Poder de Saber, celebrating its 10th year in 2013, Telemundo promotes the educational advancement of young Latinos with an emphasis on preventing high school drop-outs. The campaign consists of on-air public service announcements featuring Telemundo networks news reporter Vanessa Hauc as its official spokesperson, coupled with education news stories from a team of local El Poder de Saber reporters, partnerships with leading organizations and grassroots community outreach conducted by the Telemundo Station Group.
