Telemundo Internacional and Televisión Nacional de Chile (TVN) announced an international coproduction deal for the new original super series Dueños del Paraíso, which marks the return to television of internationally acclaimed actress Kate del Castillo. Telemundo and TVN Chile will broadcast the scripted drama in the United States and Chile, respectively. Telemundo will be in charge of the international syndication of the super series, which is expected to feature top in-front and behind-the-cameras talent from TVN and Telemundo. The deal was signed at the LA Screenings by Marcos Santana, president of Telemundo Internacional, and Mauro Valdés, executive director of TVN.We are extremely proud of this historic coproduction agreement with the company that has led scripted drama in Chile. This coproduction will have a significant impact in the international markets, as both companies dedicate their best resources to this project, said Santana.An original story by Chilean writer Pablo Illanes, author of novelas ¿Dónde Está Elisa? and Alguien te Mira, among other successful international hits, Dueños del Paraíso will be taped on location in Miami, New York and Chile, and will feature the special participation of top Chilean stars which TVN will cast through a national search.This agreement is a manifestation of TVNs leadership, in particular in the area of scripted productions. We have had a long standing relationship with our partner Telemundo Internacional and this project will expand it into large scale audiovisual productions. This alliance introduces a major innovation in the Chilean television industry and will allow us to showcase to the international markets the great capacity of our production teams, the talent of our actors and the quality of our countrys locations, said Valdés.
