Telemundo Denver announced the addition of Emmy Award-winning journalist Pedro Calderón Mitchel as news director, effective November 18, 2013. He will report to station manager Andrés Chaparro.In his new role, Calderón will be responsible for managing the stations news operations including planning and production.We are thrilled to have Pedro join KDEN as news director. His vast experience in news and production will help to strengthen our position as a leading source for news and information for the Hispanic community we serve, said Chaparro.Calderón brings with him over 21 years of experience in journalism. He joins KDEN from Univision San Diego/KBNT where he was anchor of the weekday newscasts and producer of the late evening newscast since 2011.
