Telemundo and Comcast presented innovations from the X1 for the World Cup and the new show Viva el Mundial y Más

Telemundo and Comcast held an event at the Telemundo Center to reveal the innovations of Comcast´s X1 console for the experience of the 2018 FIFA Russia World Cup and to present Viva el Mundial y Más, conducted by Jacqueline Bracamontes and Karim Mendiburu, that had its debut Thursday, June 14 at 7pm. It will be aired from Monday to Sunday during the tournament.

“There will be a before the World Cup and an after, and this is coming soon. In Telemundo Deportes we have the biggest sports events in Hispanic TV: the 2018 World Cup, the 2019 Women´s World Cup, the Super Bowl and the Olympics, and, if you heard the news this morning, you know that in 2026 the World Cup will not only be in the US, but here in Miami. We have more than 500 employees in Russia and around 200 in the US, that are seeking to deliver the best coverage the World Cup has ever seen. This is not the only TV, this event is multiplatform, for millennials and multicultural,” stated Bill Bergofin, Senior VP, Brand, and Content, at Telemundo Deportes, who started the presentation. He also mentioned the World Cup marketing campaign, that is one of the biggest and is displayed not only for Telemundo´s main audience but on all the NBCUniversal channels.

Javier García, SVP Sales and Marketing for Florida at Comcast, presented a showcase of X1´s new functions, which improve the experience of following the World Cup for Xfinity users. These include Sports App with scores and statistics in real time, the possibility of requesting different sports data, statistics and more with the X1 Voice Remote Control, live content on demand and the integrated web in a single destination on demand.
