TDN Caribbean, a new Dominican TV channel owned by TDN Medios, seeks to show the most paradisiacal places in the Caribbean, starting with its own country.
“In the Dominican Republic, the main sector boosting is tourism. Last year around eight million tourists visited. The goal is 10 million, and we could reach it in 2023. However, our tourist attractions are not on different platforms. That’s where the idea of this channel came from,” said Abraham Victoria, president of TDN Medios, owner of the channel, and three more.
TDN Caribbean attended Andina Link 2023, to promote the channel among the different cable operators at the fair: “The signal is free, we simply give them what they need and it’s available. We come from the cable world, I’ve been here for 25 years, and we know how important it is to have a good image quality for free. That is why we believe that it will have good penetration in Latin America.”
Victoria and his partner Chanci Halim said that they had more than 70 appointments with important regional operators. They also used the trip to meet with the Ministry of Tourism of Colombia to include content from the Colombian Caribbean in their programming.
“Right now we have 100% of outdoor programming with travel plans available in the Dominican Republic, but the idea is to cover and promote all Caribbean destinations and strengthen tourism in these areas regardless of the country,” explained Halim.
