Somos TV´s Semillitas expands distribution in Central America through Claro

Maribel Ramos-Weiner| 11 de septiembre de 2018

Semillitas, a channel for toddlers and preschoolers owned by Somos TV, expanded its distribution in Central America through the pay TV provider Claro.

As of August 15th, Semillitas, focused in educating and entertaining children from 0 to 5 years of age, reaches the homes of viewers in Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Panama.

The channels’ programming, featuring recognized animation in a unique commercial-free on-air package, is designed to provide a healthy and violence-free atmosphere, supporting parents in teaching basic social skills and knowledge and preserving cultural roots at a fundamental age.

“The presence of Semillitas in Claro Central America represents a very important step for our channel. We are happy to reach more homes and further our mission of supporting the education and healthy entertainment for children. With this expansion and our growth in the United States, we have achieved a successful presence in a very competitive segment,” said Luis Villanueva, president, and CEO of Somos TV.

The channel addresses important parent’s concerns since today’s content abundance in media increases the danger of exposing children to inappropriate content at an age when they don’t have a clear distinction between fantasy and reality.

Semillitas includes original productions aimed at preserving Latino family values. The in-house content values friendship, teamwork, and respect for the elderly, just to name some examples.

The channel’s programming features cutting-edge animation such as Angelina Ballerina, Bob the Builder, Mecanimals, Bali, Chloe’s Closet, The Adventures of Paddington Bear, Brainy Baby, Bo on the Go, Kit and Kate and many others.
