During the cocktail party for the celebration of TV Azteca’s 5th anniversary, held at MIPCOM, several guests, colleagues and personalities from the industry attended and gave their opinion on the occasion.
Joshua Mintz, deputy to the president at TV Azteca, said there was no better place than Cannes to celebrate these 25 years. Rodrigo Fernández, executive director at Azteca 7, mentioned that in January he will also celebrate 25 years in the company and that they are happy about having a millennial chief.
On behalf of Azteca Internacional, its former director and now CEO of Dopamine, Fidela Navarro, stated she felt very happy about this 25th anniversary and that they have a “team full of energy, ready to be around for 25 more years”.
Diego Leonel de Cervantes, general director of Azteca Internet, pointed out that in the two years that Benjamín has been in charge of Azteca, “he has made big changes, is making new alliances, they have new contents and it is growing very much.”
Pierluigi Gazzolo, president of Viacom International Media Networks – Americas, commented that TV Azteca has undergone significant changes that have helped it grow in Mexico. He explained that now they are strategic partners with Azteca and soon will be with Telefe.
Fernando Barbosa, SVP for Distribution and Production in Latin America, spoke on behalf of Disney. He said that regarding Azteca, there are many mixed feelings. “They aren’t simply a client, but a family, and for us, they are our home in Mexico.”
Álex Marín, SVP, Distribution, Latin America, Hispanic Market and the Caribbean at Sony Pictures Television, expressed that TV Azteca has been for many years a great partner. “We are now doing things together, and they also have films and series on our screens.”
