Ron Gordon, who served as president of Telemundo Station Group in 2009 during the tenure of Don Browne and oversaw all local stations in the US and Puerto Rico, died at the age of 68 in the US, a victim of cancer. He was the owner and Chairman of the Scottish soccer club, HIBS.

Gordon was also Chairman and CEO of ZGS Communications, a group that owns 13 Hispanic TV stations.

“Ron Gordon believed in the power of local broadcasting and the Latino community. As a past President of the Telemundo Station Group, Ron’s entrepreneurial spirit and vision for the Telemundo stations helped to set a motion of events that enhanced the stations so they could better serve Spanish-language speakers in the country. He was a consummate professional. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Ron’s family and loved ones and all who knew him,” expressed Valari Staab, Chairman, NBCUniversal Local, and Manuel Martinez, president, Telemundo Station Group.

Marcos Santana, who worked with Gordon in the Don Browne era, said: “We lost a great friend, a great Hispanic television entrepreneur, who knew like no other in the world about local stations in the US. I had the privilege of traveling a great part of the country with him and learning a lot by his side. Rest in peace.”
